Ernesto Colnago opened his workshop in Cambiago, near Milan, in 1954. Seventy years on, Colnago is still the bike of champions, from Eddy Merckx to Tadej Pogačar.

The story
From Merckx to Pogačar.
Eddy Merckx broke the world hour record on a Colnago in 1972. Ernesto went on to work with Ferrari engineers on carbon and fork design, and the C-series became a benchmark for handmade carbon. The C68 is still made fully in Italy.
In 2020 Tadej Pogačar's Tour de France win was the first by a rider on a Colnago-branded bike, and the V-series has kept winning since.
